What to watch between English and Korean

Speech levels

Korean verb endings signal respect. Formal tone uses 합니다/습니다 or polite -요 forms; Casual uses banmal, which is only appropriate with close friends or younger people.

Avoiding "you"

Koreans rarely use a direct word for "you" (당신 can sound cold). Natural Korean uses names, titles or no pronoun at all, so expect the translation to restructure sentences.

Loanwords

Many tech terms are Konglish transliterations (컴퓨터, 이메일). Lock your preferred spelling in the glossary.
